The candle flickers.
We remembered our dead

The Halloween Tree
30" x 22" oils on canvas
Homage to Ray Bradbury and his novel The Halloween Tree. Most cultures have had such a day or days, when the dead returned to the land of the living to briefly feel life again. They were offered treats, a supper, a bowl of milk by the door, in the hope that they might return ungrudgingly to their graves and not trouble the living for another year.
