The Crow and the Sun 18" x 22" oils on canvas

The crow was a symbol of the Sun to the ancient Chinese. The myth of the Ten Suns told of how each day a crow carried one of the suns from east to west across the sky. In the Huashan (Flower Mountains) are to be found rock paintings of sun worship containing the glyph shown here.
